To see the opportunities and make the most of them, we all need clear head space - especially in the lead up to the silly season.

We know you’re busy at this time of year...and that means it can be hard to find  the extra head space you need.

The good news is, we have some brains you can borrow! Read on for some ideas to give you space.

A MESSAGE FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON

The festive season often means additional packaging, wrapping, cards and boxes – and general household waste.

• Do your residents know what to do with the common gift packing types?

• Are you providing additional recycling or waste collections, a paper in boxes collection point or amnesty to deal with the extra waste?

• Are you explaining how to get rid of all those extra retailers' plastic bags with ‘please recycle’ printed all over them?

• Have you got some great ‘sustainable festive season’ ideas?

Christmas time is an opportunity to connect with the community - and get some of these messages out there.

Newspapers are looking for new angles on enviro-friendly issues, and a few well placed ads or materials could significantly impact your contamination and litter levels. Partner up with local retailers and charity organisations to help achieve your goals.

We can plan and implement a mini-campaign NOW to help with any and all of these issues. Call Bronwyn on 9540 0801 to talk through your thoughts – she’ll help you make sense of it all.

FACING AN AVALANCHE?

It’s odd that in such a sunny climate we regularly hear of clients being ‘snowed under’.

That final flurry of projects that must be finished before the festive season is where we fit right in to your plans.

Just as the M in Kenmore-DMP stands for making your message matter, it also means meeting your needs. And if you need more space to start thinking, actioning and completing some projects then we’re your team.

Call us on 9540 0801 to start shifting some projects, and creating more space in your head for more important things.

PROJECT FOCUS

Yarra Ranges Garden Organics Promotion 2008
Clean up for the fire season with a garden organics bin

In 2008, with a potentially difficult fire season ahead, Shire of Yarra Ranges saw an opportunity to promote a way for residents to clean up in advance and during the fire season - and all year round.

The aim was to increase take-up of the garden organics service in the Dandenong Ranges from 50 bins per month.

Kenmore-DMP used its unique skill mix to:

• Create a direct mail campaign for 8000 households

• Develop, design and print a postcard, brochure and order form

• Identify the properties to mail to, address and deliver the mail pack

The result: an outstanding 700+ households taking up the service over two months between late December 2008 and early February 2009.

For more information, a case study or samples of the materials talk to Bronwyn at Kenmore-DMP or Graham Brew at Shire of Yarra Ranges on 9294 6771.

Q&A

Q. How do I make sure I have enough in the budget to reach my goals?

A. Start talking with us now!

We hear it over and over:

“I have to achieve this, but I only have a few dollars left in the budget.”

“It says in our annual report that we’ll be doing this, but I don’t know how we’re going to do it.”

We’re pretty good at getting you significant bang for your limited buck, but if you really want to kick some goals in 2010-11 you need to make sure your budget hits all the right marks - and it helps to plan for this well in advance.

Having time to discuss your ideas, brainstorm and nut it all out is the key to getting great results.

We can help plan, cost out and timeline your grand, and not so grand, plans – and make sure there’s enough to make you look really good come the next annual report.

Email bronwyn@kenmore-dmp.com to set up a time to talk through your plans.

AND FINALLY

A little present is coming your way...

The annual Kenmore-DMP calendar will soon be hitting your desk. Our little extra gift to you.

Each year we receive many requests for additional copies to give to other staff members in your office, so to make sure everyone’s desk is suitably ‘prettified’, please email Kelly Gamble at kelly@kenmore-dmp.com to add names to the list.

Please note: Kelly may request proof of whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year before adding to the list...
